Ling Dota 2 Coach Report v0.1

Private small-circle coaching report. Based on OpenDota public data.

Overall Read

This is not a beginner account. Ling has 2843 wins, 2782 losses, and a 50.5% overall win rate. Recent form is the concern: last 20 matches are 6W / 14L, with average KDA 5 / 10 / 17.6.

The issue is not lack of game knowledge. The recent pattern looks like too wide a hero pool, too many deaths, and not enough conversion from deaths into team advantage.

Hero Pool Read

Most-played heroes are Rubick, Ogre Magi, Crystal Maiden, Lion, Shadow Shaman, and Witch Doctor. This strongly suggests a support / utility player. Rubick at 343 games and 56.6%, Ogre at 280 games and 56.1%, and Lion at 194 games and 53.6% are real comfort strengths.

Recent Problem

Recent picks are scattered: Zeus, Rubick, Skywrath, Lion, Underlord, Pudge, Hoodwink, Venomancer, Witch Doctor, Sand King, Undying, and Wraith King. That is too wide for a recovery or climb phase.

Skywrath Mage is especially questionable right now, with volatile recent games and a long-term win rate of only 41.1%.

Main Issue: Death Quality

Recent average deaths are around 10 per game. That is too high. For a support player, deaths are acceptable only if they buy vision, core survival, cooldowns, initiation, objective access, or BKB/buyback pressure.

Support players can die. The problem is dying without conversion.

Positive Signal

Recent Underlord games look structurally better: 8/6/22, 2/3/17, and 1/8/32 wins with meaningful tower damage. That suggests he does better when the hero gives team structure, lane control, and objective pressure.

Recommended Short-Term Hero Pool

  1. Rubick: main historical strength, 343 games, 56.6%.
  2. Ogre Magi: simple, stable, protective, 280 games, 56.1%.
  3. Lion: good tempo support, but death discipline matters.
  4. Underlord: if willing to play core/offlane, recent sample looks stable.

Seven-Day Focus

Average deaths below 7.

After every match, review only three questions:

1. What did my first three deaths buy?
2. Did I die for a low-value ward?
3. When I died, could our cores still farm or fight?

One-Line Summary

You know Dota. The current issue is that your recent hero pool is too scattered, your deaths are too high, and too many deaths do not convert into team advantage. Return to Rubick / Ogre / Lion / Underlord, lower average deaths, and your win rate should stabilize first.
