YayaNyx Spirit Walker Repair Report: do not gear it like a caster

Based on the copied skill package, this is not a wand/staff spell-damage setup. It should be repaired as a Spirit Walker spear attack / projectile / cold-elemental attack build. At level 83, the first repair lane is weapon, resists, evasion, and the Twister main link.

Player: YayaNyx Class: Spirit Walker Level: around 83 Boundary: no public PoB found

Evidence Boundary

I did not find a public PoB, pobb.in, poe.ninja page, or public character profile for YayaNyx. This is not a direct item-by-item audit of her actual character.

Main conclusion: this is not a spell build. Do not gear it like a wand/staff spell-damage character. It should be repaired as a spear attack / projectile / cold-elemental attack Spirit Walker.

One-Sentence Repair Diagnosis

The build direction is usable. The most likely failure point is gear logic: avoid increased spell damage, avoid caster weapons, and prioritize spear damage, attack speed, projectile/elemental attack scaling, crit, and survival layers.

Build Core Loop

Ice-Tipped Arrows / cold setup
-> Barrage or Mark for burst setup
-> Whirling Slash to start the engine
-> Twister as the main damage window
-> Herald of Ice for clear and cold chain value

Public Spirit Walker Twister resources support this pattern: Whirling Slash is primarily an enabler, while Twister is the main damage skill.

Gear Setup

Weapon set 1: starter set

Goal: speed, not main damage. Prioritize attack speed / skill speed. Ideal option is Skysliver; otherwise use a high attack-speed rare spear. Whirling Slash can stay lower level if mana is uncomfortable.

Weapon set 2: damage set

Goal: real damage. Prioritize high base damage, attack speed, crit chance, crit multi, elemental damage with attacks, projectile damage, and cold/freeze modifiers.

Armor

Helmet, chest, gloves, and boots should first fix life / resists / evasion. Boots should ideally have 30%+ movement speed. Endgame chest can look toward Hyrri's Ire.

Jewelry and charms

Rings and amulet should first fix resists, attributes, and life. Then add flat attack damage, elemental attack damage, crit damage, and projectile damage. Charms should cover the current death cause.

Skill Setup Notes

Passive Tree Direction

Without her real PoB, I cannot name exact nodes. The direction is still clear: projectile damage, attack speed, skill duration, elemental damage with attacks, cold/freeze, life, evasion, and deflection.

Weapon set 1 should lean into attack speed / skill speed for Whirling Slash startup. Weapon set 2 should lean into raw damage / crit / projectile / elemental damage for Twister.

Level 83 Repair Priority

  1. Cap elemental resists. Do not leave chaos so low that every touch is lethal.
  2. Replace the weapon with the correct spear. Do not use caster weapons.
  3. Get comfortable movement speed on boots, ideally 30%+.
  4. Fix life / evasion / resists on chest, helmet, and gloves.
  5. Complete the Twister main support setup. Do not spend all upgrades on Whirling Slash.
  6. Then consider crit transition, Hyrri's Ire, Skysliver, and better jewels.

Final Conclusion

The copied skill package can work. The repair is to gear and path it as a Spirit Walker spear attack projectile build, not as a caster.

Correct keywords:
spear / attack speed / projectile / elemental damage with attacks
cold / freeze / crit / life / evasion / resists / deflection

Wrong keywords:
wand / staff / spell damage / over-investing in Whirling Slash hit damage
dropping resists/evasion for paper DPS
